GOALS OF THE 2020 FIELD SEASON
Through this unprecedented year due to the dramatic situations created by COVID-19, our commitment to work at the site of the Millions of Years temple of Thutmosis III remains unchanged, however, due to the circumstances, a smaller team will be required.
During this thirteenth field season, the following objectives will be addressed:
- The excavation work will continue on the exterior of the west enclosure wall and in the workshop area located in the north of the upper terrace.
- Anthropological research will be carried out on numerous individuals found in tombs from various periods.
- We will proceed to study fragments of cartonnage of the Late period, many of which preserve iconographic and epigraphic evidence. restoration tasks will be carried out on them.
- Restoration work on mudbrick structures will continue.
It is also important to mention that progress will be made on the musealization of the site, so that future visitors can learn about its main phases, both from the temple’s aspect and the tombs of various periods.
